Who’s Behind the Decisions

Ian’s background is in sports trading, where decisions are made on price and discipline rather than instinct. He has spent over a decade working in that environment, utilising data models and operating at scale. That same thinking now guides how horses are bought, placed, and managed. Ian is responsible for the research framework, valuation discipline, purchase process, ownership structure, and communication with owners.

Our bloodstock partner is responsible for in-person assessment of shortlisted horses, including movement, conformation, physical suitability, and sale-ground judgement. Data can narrow the field. It cannot replace the work of physically assessing a horse properly. That is why no horse is bought on analytical theory alone. The physical assessment must support the case.

Amy joins Alpha Edge Racing with a background in finance and operations within a leading fintech investment group. She manages syndicate finances and day-to-day administration. Outside work, she enjoys a day at the races and meeting owners across the sport.
